Meet outside the entrance to Westminster Lodge, St Albans, AL1 2DL
Car parking options at both Westminster Lodge (up to 3 hours is £2.30) or Verulamium Museum Car Park (same for £1.70). We will be returning past the museum.
We will be walking 6.5 miles through Potters Crouch and Gorhambury, pausing at Old Gorhambury House, built by Sir Nicholas Bacon in 1563-68. You do need to flex your imagination to visualise a once grand mansion.
Past new Gorhambury House, there are usually lots of kites to be spotted, so if  the weather is fine, you may want to bring binoculars.
Tea and biscuits will be available afterwards at Susan and David’s.
It would be helpful to know if you are planning on coming by Saturday evening (28 April), if possible.
