After about 21 months and over 200 miles, this section will bring us to the end of the Thames pathway and beyond.
The plan is to drive to Slade Green station (DA8 2NX) which is just off the A206, just west of the Dartford Crossing (south side). The aim is to catch the 9.35 am train which will get us into Greenwich just after 10 am. There is an earlier train at 9.21 which we could get if we are there for it.
We will then walk to the river and then along to Woolwich past the Thames Barrier and then along past Erith to Crayford ness and along the estuary of the river Darent back to Slade Green. This will be a fairly long 16 miles. This can be shortened to about 14 miles by leaving the Thames before Crayford ness.
We would need to leave St Albans/Hatfield by 8.00 am. Car sharing would be a definite advantage on this occasion. As I have an account for the Dartford crossing I will offer to drive and take up to three passengers. If you don’t have an account for the Dartford crossing, I believe you have up to 24 hours to pay by phone or website (about £2.50 each way).
Let me know if you are coming before next Saturday evening and whether you are willing to drive or would like a lift.
Also plan on taking packed lunch, drinks and waterproofs etc.
